My
kids have a restless reaction to foods that contain red dye 40. We figured we could entertain their cravings
by making homemade fruit leathers. The ability to make jerky was a bonus for
me. I ordered another brand that I thought was going to do the job, but once it
arrived I found the construction to be subpar and it was passive, requiring
rotation of the trays. I immediately returned it and purchased Nesco unit instead.
This
machine is very easy to use, no explanation necessary. The trays are sturdy and
durable. The fan is quiet but still powerful enough to dry the foods in a
reasonable time. The documentation is basic but good enough. It shows you
drying times and has tips & tricks for different foods with recipes included. I have used it for many times and
made several batches of jerky, which the whole family enjoys. I have also dehydrated apples, potatos,
tomatos, bananas, peaches, grapes, and oranges and have been very pleased with
the process and outcome. My kids absolutely love them. Yesterday I even made beef and Guinness stew
and dehydrated it for camping!
This
Nesco Food Dehydrator has large capacity without taking up excessive counter
space. The variable temp lets you dry
delicate foods without harming nutrients.
The stackable trays customize the size of your dehydrator - you don't
waste power drying empty space. Also it dries contents fairly evenly from top to bottom of
tray stack.
All-in-all,
this is a wonderful machine. I would recommend to anyone,
even a newbie dehydrator like myself! For more information and the best price with free 2-day shipping, please click the link below to Walmart. Thank you.
